Live Shotgun Seized in Targeted Police Operation

A man has been charged after police officers discovered a 'live and viable' shotgun during a targeted raid on a residential property in Chelmsley Wood. The Solihull Priority Crime Team executed a warrant at an address on Pendrell Close on Friday, November 21.

Arrest and Court Appearance

During the search, officers located and seized the firearm. Following forensic examination, it was confirmed to be a live and operational weapon. Keane Carter, 25, from Solihull, was subsequently arrested at the scene.

He was later charged with possession of a firearm. Carter appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday, November 22, where he was remanded into custody. A further hearing in the case has been scheduled for next month.

Ongoing Police Enquiries

West Midlands Police confirmed that a 24-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with the incident. She has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for the force issued a public appeal for information, stating: "We're working around the clock to disrupt and arrest anyone involved in gun crime, as well as drugs, exploitation, and more." Anyone with information is urged to contact police quoting log number 449 of 21 November.
