A man is fighting for his life after a shooting in the Black Country town of Willenhall, which occurred just hours before Christmas Eve.
Emergency Response to Wordsworth Road Incident
The incident took place on Wordsworth Road in Willenhall on the evening of Tuesday, December 23. Emergency services were alerted at 7.28pm following reports of a shooting.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched a significant number of resources to the scene. These included two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic.
Advanced Trauma Care at the Scene
Upon arrival, crews discovered a man who had sustained what were described as life-threatening injuries. Medical staff provided him with advanced trauma care at the location in a bid to stabilise his condition.
Following this urgent treatment, the patient was rushed to hospital by ambulance for further specialist care. His condition remains critical.
