A man was taken to hospital after a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Smethwick this morning, with emergency services responding to the scene outside Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
The incident occurred at the junction of Woodlands Street and Grove Lane at approximately 11.52am on August 27. A passing ambulance crew came across the crash and immediately requested additional support.
Ambulance Crew Discovers Crash
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that a passing ambulance discovered the single-car RTC and sent a second ambulance and the Trust’s critical care car to the scene.
Photos from the scene showed significant damage to the front and roof of the vehicle involved. The man was treated at the scene for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

The spokeswoman said: "A passing by ambulance came across a single car RTC at the junction of Woodlands Street and Grove Lane in Smethwick at 11.52am and sent a second ambulance and the Trust’s critical care car to the scene."
