Defendant Appears Via Videolink at Old Bailey

A 40-year-old man has appeared at the Old Bailey facing serious charges including two counts of murder and multiple sexual offences. Simon Levy, from Beaufoy Road in Tottenham, north London, appeared via videolink wearing a grey tracksuit and dark glasses during the hearing on Wednesday, November 26.

The defendant spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the brief session. He was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges he currently faces.

Details of the Alleged Offences

Levy stands accused of the murder of Sheryl Wilkins, 39, who was found unresponsive on August 24 in High Road, Tottenham. He is also charged with the murder of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, who was discovered deceased at a property on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London on March 17.

Additionally, the defendant faces charges of grievous bodily harm with intent, non-fatal strangulation, and two counts of rape against another woman. These alleged attacks on the woman, who has lifetime anonymity for legal reasons, are said to have occurred in High Road, Tottenham, on January 21.

Legal Proceedings and Police Appeal

Judge Mark Lucraft KC remanded Levy in custody following the hearing. The case has been scheduled for a plea and case management hearing at the Old Bailey on February 23, 2026.

The Metropolitan Police had previously appealed for information from the public to assist their investigation. They urged anyone with relevant information, or anyone who has yet to report alleged incidents, to come forward.
