Police are investigating an incident of disorder in Darlaston which left a man requiring hospital treatment for a hand injury.
Officers Respond to Reports of Trouble
West Midlands Police were called to the junction of Hewitt Street and Park Street at approximately 7.40pm on Friday, January 16. Reports indicated a public disturbance was taking place at the location.
Upon arrival, however, officers discovered that the individuals involved had already fled the scene. The area was quiet by the time police conducted their initial assessment.
Hospital Alert Links to Incident
The force's investigation took a new turn when they were later alerted by a local hospital. A man had presented himself for treatment, suffering from a wound to his hand.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish a definitive link between the man's injury and the earlier reported disorder on Hewitt Street. The connection is currently being treated as a strong line of enquiry.
