West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after a man aged in his 40s was assaulted on Upper High Street in Wednesbury. The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Assault on Upper High Street
Officers were called to the scene at around 11.50pm on August 15 following reports of an assault. The victim, who has not been named, was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital for treatment.
A force spokesperson said: "We are investigating after a man was found with serious injuries on Upper High Street, Wednesbury last night. Officers were called at around 11.50pm after a man in his 40s was assaulted. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious but stable condition."
Police enquiries and CCTV review
Officers are currently carrying out enquiries and retrieving CCTV footage from the area as part of the investigation. The spokesperson added: "We're reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as part of our enquiries."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the force. The spokesperson said: "Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting 5657 of 15 August."
