Man sought after Wolverhampton group assault

Detectives in Wolverhampton are appealing for public help to identify a man after a victim was kicked and punched by a group of men in the city centre. The assault happened in North Street at approximately 4am on December 7, according to West Midlands Police.

Arrests and bail

Two males have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail while enquiries continue. West Midlands Police confirmed that the two men remain on bail as officers progress their investigation.

The force has not disclosed the ages of the arrested individuals or the extent of the victim's injuries, but confirmed that the victim was assaulted by a gang of men during the early-hours disorder.

CCTV and witness appeal

Enquiries, including examination of CCTV footage, are ongoing. Officers have released a photograph of a man they believe may have information that could assist the investigation. The image was taken from North Street, Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police are urging anyone who recognises the man in the photograph, or who has any other information about the assault, to come forward. The force has asked witnesses to contact them via 101 or through the Live Chat function on their website, quoting reference number 20/469299/25.
