West Midlands Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist died following a collision in Rowley Regis on Saturday night. The rider, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Powke Lane after sustaining serious injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.45pm on 15 August, near the junction with Yewtree Lane. Police believe the rider struck a number of vehicles before coming off his bike. Officers have spoken to some of the drivers involved, but are still trying to trace others.
Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We're appealing for information after a motorcyclist has died following a collision in Sandwell. We were called to Powke Lane, near the junction of Yewtree Lane, Rowley Regis, at just after 8.45pm yesterday (15 August). A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries and was sadly confirmed dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time."
The spokesperson added: "It's understood the rider struck a number of vehicles before coming off his bike. We have spoken to some of the drivers but there are others we still need to trace. We're keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the blue motorbike. There was a white Toyota Prius travelling along Powke Lane and the driver could assist our investigation. We'd ask anybody with dashcam footage to contact us."
