British Transport Police have confirmed that a person has died on railway tracks in Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, marking the second tragedy in the beauty spot within five days.
Emergency services responded to casualty on tracks
All three emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks in Sutton Park at around 11.33am today, Thursday, August 20. Fire engines, police cars, and ambulances were seen at the Streetly Gate entrance of the park, just off Thornhill Road.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a spokesperson for British Transport Police. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Second tragedy in five days at Sutton Park
This incident follows the discovery of a man's body in the park's woodland on Saturday, August 15. That earlier death is also being investigated by authorities.
Issuing a statement on the latest death, a force spokesperson told BirminghamLive: "We were called to Streetly at 11.33am today to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Officers and paramedics attended but, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner."

West Midlands Ambulance Service was contacted for comment regarding their involvement in the response. The British Transport Police will compile a file for the coroner, who will determine the circumstances of the death. No further details about the deceased have been released at this time.
