A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in her 60s at a property in Burnage, south Manchester, on Wednesday morning, July 8.
Police Respond to Assault Reports
Officers from Greater Manchester Police, alongside paramedics, were dispatched to a residence on Ivylea Road at approximately 8am after receiving reports of an assault. Upon arrival, they found the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation, and the teenager remains in police custody for questioning. The Manchester Evening News understands that the victim is related to the suspect.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: 'Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address on Ivylea Road, Burnage at around 8am today (08/07/26). One woman aged in her 60s sadly died at the scene and a boy, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.'
