PepsiCo has issued a recall for Doritos Chilli Heatwave Flavour Corn Chips after some packs were mispacked with Doritos Tangy Cheese Flavour Corn Chips. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warns that the affected product contains milk, but the packaging only states a precautionary 'may contain milk' statement, posing a risk to consumers with milk allergies or intolerance.
Affected batch details
The recall applies to 140g packs of Doritos Chilli Heatwave with batch code GBC 209 184C and a best before date of December 5, 2026. The FSA advises consumers who have purchased this batch and have a milk allergy or intolerance not to eat the product. Instead, they should return it to the store for a full refund.
Consumer guidance
The FSA stated: 'If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.' Company response
PepsiCo is recalling the product from customers and has contacted relevant allergy support organisations to inform their members. Point-of-sale notices have been issued to explain the recall and instruct customers on what to do if they have purchased the product.
The FSA added: 'PepsiCo is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.'
Background
Doritos, a popular snack brand in UK households, previously launched two pizza-inspired flavors in 2022: Triple Cheese Pizza and Loaded Pepperoni Pizza. The current recall highlights the importance of accurate allergen labelling for consumer safety.
