West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a 'really nasty robbery' on an elderly couple in Halesowen. The victims, both in their 80s, were returning from a shopping trip when they were attacked on Upper Ashley Street at around 1pm on Tuesday, June 9.
Details of the Attack
The assailant, who was riding a dark coloured hybrid bike, wrestled the woman to the ground and stole her handbag. He also pushed her husband to the ground, causing facial injuries. The suspect is described as white, tall, slim, and was wearing a black hooded jacket, grey casual trousers, and dark coloured training shoes.
Police Appeal
Detective Sergeant Mark Dent, from the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Dudley, said: 'This was a really nasty robbery committed on a vulnerable elderly couple and I would appeal to anyone who may recognise the man in the images to please contact us. I appreciate that the offender’s face cannot be seen; however, friends or associates of this person may recognise him. We would appeal for them to please contact us.'
