Free Entry Theme Park Near Birmingham with £1 Rides

A theme park less than an hour from Birmingham offers free entry and rides for just £1, making it an ideal destination for families seeking an affordable day out. With the Spring Bank Holiday approaching on May 25, many families are looking for budget-friendly activities, and this adventure park delivers without breaking the bank.

Playland Fun Park: A Hidden Gem

Located in Stourport-on-Sevrn, Worcestershire, Playland Fun Park is a family-run attraction that frequently appears on lists of the most affordable adventure parks in the UK. The park operates on a pay-as-you-play basis, with no standard entry fee. Instead, guests purchase tokens on arrival, each costing £1, and pay only for the rides they wish to enjoy. Most rides require just one token, making it an extremely cost-effective option.

The park is open from March to October, on weekends and during school holidays. It boasts over 20 attractions, including the Junior Pirate Ship, Go Karts, Moto GP Bikes, F1 Cars, Pony Ride, Safari Train, Bumper Boats, Trampolines, Quad Bikes, Crazy Caves, Bouncy Castles, and a newly introduced safari-themed Crazy Golf. Visitors can also enjoy a river steamer ride along the River Severn, offering scenic views of Stourport-on-Severn.

New Attractions and Family Fun

Recently, the park has introduced new rides, such as Dino Tours, where visitors can drive their own explorer jeep through a dinosaur-themed track. A Farmyard area features ride-on animals, tractors, a Pony Adventure, and a Farmyard Bounce and Slide. Families can also hire self-drive boats for a leisurely cruise on the River Severn.

The park is situated alongside riverside meadows, perfect for picnics or simply enjoying the surroundings. One Tripadvisor reviewer praised the park, saying: "Went with our son and our 3 year old granddaughter. She loved it. Loads of electric cars and bikes for her to drive. Queues very small even on a sunny Saturday, every ride 1 or 2 pounds. Only negative is you need cash. The pictures don't do it justice." Another visitor noted: "We went to a birthday party here today. Not too crowded, excellent value for money as the rides are just one token each, and there's plenty to do for all ages (adults included!) Definitely coming back soon!"

Opening hours may vary on bank holidays, so it is advisable to call ahead before visiting.
