Niall Worsfold, 29, of Farrow Road, Leeds, has been charged with murdering his one-month-old son, six years after the baby was taken to hospital from a home in Leeds and later died. West Yorkshire Police confirmed the infant died in hospital on 10 July 2020, several days after being admitted from an address on Lincombe Drive in Gledhow.

Charges and Court Appearance

Worsfold also faces a charge of child cruelty and has been remanded to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. The charges come after a lengthy investigation by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

Arrest and Release of Woman

A 25-year-old woman was arrested as part of the investigation but has since been released with no further action taken. Police have not disclosed her relationship to the victim or Worsfold.
