Man charged with murder of woman, 24, in Stoke-on-Trent

Kyle Pala, a 30-year-old white British man, has been charged with murder following the death of Sarah-Louise Pennington in Stoke-on-Trent. The 24-year-old woman was found deceased at a property in Oakwell Court, Longton, after Staffordshire Police were called to the scene at around 3.30am on Sunday, 12 July.

Details of the incident

Officers discovered Sarah-Louise Pennington, from Stoke-on-Trent, inside the address. A scene remains in place as police continue their enquiries, but they are working to minimise disruption to local residents.

Kyle Pala, of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, was charged with murder and was due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday, 15 July. He remains in custody.

Police statement

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been charged with murder following the death of Sarah-Louise Pennington in Stoke-on-Trent. Kyle Pala, 30, who is white British and of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with murder. It comes after we were called to an address at Oakwell Court, Longton, at around 3.30am on Sunday (12 July). Sadly, 24-year-old Sarah-Louise, from Stoke-on-Trent, was found dead inside."

Ongoing investigation

The force added: "Our scene enquiries in the area are continuing but we are working to minimise the disruption to local residents. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while officers have been working hard in the area over the last few days."

Pala was scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 15 July. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
