Police have arrested a man in his 40s after another man sustained injuries at a property in the West Midlands. The incident occurred on Talbot Road in the Blakenhall area of Wolverhampton on Tuesday morning, May 19.
West Midlands Police (WMP) reported that the injuries were not believed to be life-changing. Officers on patrol spotted a suspect who attempted to flee but was quickly detained on Manor Road in nearby Ettingshall. A knife was recovered during a search.
The suspect, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and possession of an offensive weapon. He remained in custody on Wednesday, May 21, as investigations continue.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for WMP said: "Guardian officers made an arrest in response to an incident in Wolverhampton yesterday morning, in which a man suffered injuries at a property in Talbot Road. During patrols, they spotted a suspect who attempted to make off, but he was soon detained in Manor Road, Ettingshall. On carrying out a search, a knife was also recovered."
The spokesperson added: "We take knife crime and carrying a weapon seriously. If you know someone who is carrying a weapon, please call us on 101 to report. You can also talk to us online or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
