Missing Cannock Man Found Dead at Cannock Chase

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that a 33-year-old man from Cannock, who was reported missing last week, has been found dead on Cannock Chase. The man, named only as Alex, was discovered on Friday, August 28, following an extensive search operation involving police officers, search and rescue teams, and volunteers.

Search and Discovery

Alex was reported missing on Saturday, August 22. A search was launched immediately, with specialist police search officers and volunteers from search and rescue teams combing the area. Detectives and officers working away from the scene also supported the operation.

On Friday, August 28, Alex's body was found on Cannock Chase. Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service. Staffordshire Police have stated that they are not treating the death as suspicious.

Police Statement and Condolences

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We can sadly confirm 33-year-old Alex, from Cannock, has been found deceased. Alex was reported missing on Saturday, August 22. Specialist searches have been taking place using police search officers and volunteers from search and rescue teams, supported by detectives and officers working away from the scene. Sadly, Alex was found yesterday on Cannock Chase."

The spokesperson added: "Officers attended alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service. We are not treating his death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."

Appeal for Information and Family Support

Police expressed gratitude for the public's assistance during the search. The spokesperson said: "We'd like to thank everyone who has come forward with information as part of the efforts to try and find him, as well as those who shared the appeals for information."

They also extended condolences to the family, stating: "We would like to send our condolences to the family during this difficult time and ask for sensitivity around this event during this grieving period."

A file is being prepared for HM Coroner, and the family has been informed. The investigation into the circumstances of Alex's death is ongoing, but authorities have confirmed that no suspicious circumstances are suspected.
