West Midlands Police have issued a statement after a pensioner was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries following a collision at a Morrisons supermarket in Pendeford, Wolverhampton.
Collision Details
The incident occurred at the Morrisons store on Blaydon Road just after 12:40pm on July 13. A woman in her 70s was struck by a car and subsequently transported to New Cross Hospital by ambulance. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police enquiries.
Emergency Response
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 12:16pm and dispatched an ambulance. Upon arrival, crews treated the woman for potentially serious injuries before conveying her to the hospital. A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed: 'On arrival, crews found a woman, she was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to New Cross Hospital.'

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called to Blaydon Road just after 12.40pm this afternoon after a woman was hit by a car. The woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to assist with our enquiries.'

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them. The spokesperson added: 'Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting 2500 of 13 July.'
