London Builder's Dream Comes True: Wins £47k Cupra in Online Competition
Construction worker wins £47k dream car in online draw

A construction worker from East London has had his life transformed after scooping a brand-new luxury car worth £47,000 in an online competition.

A Surprise Visit on Site

Amaniel Haile, a 27-year-old from East Ham, was operating a telehandler on a building site when his ordinary day took an extraordinary turn. Presenters Christian Williams and Katie Knight from the dream car giveaway company BOTB arrived unexpectedly to deliver the life-changing news.

"I'm in shock. Is this real?" said Amaniel, who had been entering the online spot-the-ball draw for two years. "I never thought I would win. It's a dream. I play all the time and my work colleagues kept saying to me, 'you're going to win one day'."

The Moment of Revelation

To reveal the prize, Christian guided Amaniel down the street where a sleek Cupra Terramar VZ1 was parked. The 27-year-old, who had never owned a brand-new car, was invited to sit inside as the presenters talked him through its high-performance features, including a 261bhp i4 Turbo engine and a top speed of 151mph.

The surprise had been meticulously planned, with Amaniel's wife secretly in on the reveal. She had even managed to persuade him to wash his work clothes beforehand without raising his suspicions.

Planning for the Future

The day after the win, with the reality beginning to sink in, Amaniel reflected on his incredible luck. Despite his love for the vehicle, he is considering a practical approach to his windfall.

"I'm planning to take the cash alternative, but I'm in no rush to spend it," he explained. "I want to focus on work and save the money before making any big decisions on what to do with it." He had previously owned a car but sold it as he lives close to his workplace.

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: "Amaniel is one of those players who has played BOTB for years, watching other winners and hoping for the day he'd be one of the lucky ones. Seeing him sit inside his first-ever brand-new car was amazing."

Katie Knight added: "It was such a great moment. You could see instantly how much it meant to him. Revealing the car around the corner and watching his face light up was just priceless."

The company gives away dream cars every week. One of their current top prizes is an Audi RSQ8 Vorsprung worth £78,000, with entry tickets costing just 22p. Their biggest ever offering is a £1.15 million townhouse in Bath.
