The entertainment world is in mourning following the tragic death of William Rush, the son of former Coronation Street actress Debbie Rush. The 32-year-old, who also found fame as a child actor on BBC's Waterloo Road, passed away on Wednesday, 17th December.

Debbie Rush, who portrayed Anna Windass on the ITV soap for a decade from 2008 to 2018, confirmed the devastating news in an emotional social media post on Thursday, 18th December. She shared a photograph of her son alongside a poignant message expressing the family's profound grief.
"Our beautiful baby boy, William, passed away on 17th December," she wrote. "As a family, our hearts are completely broken, and there are no words that can truly capture the depth of our loss."
A Legacy of Kindness Through Organ Donation
In the midst of their tragedy, the Rush family revealed a remarkable act of selflessness. Debbie's statement highlighted that William was registered as an organ donor, a decision that has provided hope to other families.
"Even in our darkest moment, William gave the most precious gift of all," she continued. "Through being an organ donor, he has given hope and life to other families, thinking of others right to the very end. His kindness and love will forever be part of his legacy."
The actress concluded by asking for privacy for her family as they navigate their grief, stating William would "always be loved, always missed, and forever in our hearts."
William Rush's On-Screen Career and Co-Stars' Tributes
William Rush was best known for his role as schoolboy Josh Stevenson in the BBC One drama Waterloo Road, which he played from 2009 to 2013. His acting credits also included appearances in Vera and Casualty, and a long-running part as Ali Duncan in the children's series Grange Hill from 2005 to 2007.
News of his passing prompted an outpouring of support from the acting community, particularly his mother's former colleagues on the Cobbles.
