Former EastEnders star Shona McGarty found herself in hot water during a bizarre supermarket visit that led to her being escorted from the premises.

In 2012, the I'm A Celebrity contestant was involved in a strange episode at one of Asda's stores that left fellow shoppers shocked and disgusted. According to eyewitness accounts, McGarty was caught smearing yogurt over herself in a suggestive manner while shopping with her then-boyfriend and former co-star Matt Lapinskas.
The incident quickly escalated when security staff intervened. Both McGarty and Lapinskas were politely asked to leave the supermarket giant's store after their behaviour caused distress to other customers, particularly those with children.

One shocked shopper who witnessed the event told The Sun at the time: "It was disgusting. The man was opening up pots and looked as if he was throwing it around. Then the girl started to smear it over herself in a suggestive manner."
The witness expressed particular concern about children being exposed to such behaviour, adding: "I had my kids aged ten and nine with me and they certainly don't need to see that in the shopping aisles of Asda."
An Asda spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating: "This isn't us being Albert squares. As with any customer found to be causing a ruckus in our stores, we politely asked the culprits to leave so they didn't offend other shoppers."

Host Declan Donnelly later explained how she might have acquired the forbidden item, revealing on an I'm A Celeb Instagram Live chat: "When you go down to trials, there's a little kind of makeshift toilet for the celebs if you need the loo before the trial. So, I think the air freshener was in there or around there and she swiped it."
