Hospitality Lecturer Wins Top National Teaching Award

A lecturer from East Riding College, part of the TEC Partnership, has been recognised among the very best in the country after winning a prestigious award at the Educate North Awards (ENA) 2026. Anthony Gascoigne, hospitality and catering team leader based in Bridlington, received the ENA & CCUK Outstanding Contribution Award for Outstanding Teacher, standing out from more than 640 nominations nationwide.

The award celebrates exceptional educators who make a significant difference to their students, their institution and their wider industry - and Anthony’s impact has been described as transformative. Speaking about his win, Anthony said: “I’m incredibly proud to receive this award, but it really belongs to the students and colleagues I work with every day. Seeing students grow in confidence, develop their skills, and go on to succeed in the industry is what makes this job so rewarding.”
