Tottenham Sign Former Villa Youngster Cole Ramsey

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of former Aston Villa academy prospect Cole Ramsey. The 18-year-old midfielder, younger brother of Jacob and Aaron Ramsey, will link up with Spurs' Under-21 squad following his departure from Villa Park earlier this summer.

Youth Career at Aston Villa

Ramsey was a regular for Aston Villa's Under-18 side during the 2024/25 campaign. He made 19 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, scoring three goals, and also featured in the FA Youth Cup. His final outing for Villa came against Tottenham at the end of April. Ramsey was part of the Villa team that won the Under-18 Premier League title last season.

Player's Reaction

Speaking about his move, Ramsey expressed his excitement: "It's massive for me, it's a massive club. I'm so happy to be here and I can't wait to get started. Every time that I have played Spurs, it's been a tough game."

He added: "They are a team who likes to keep the ball and make you run, so I think it would be nice to be on the other side of that and always have the ball. I see myself as a player who is at their best with the ball at their feet, getting the ball in pockets, and every time I play Spurs, they were always trying to find the midfielders, and then create chances and opportunities."

Playing Style

Ramsey describes himself as a creative and clever player: "I'm a creative and clever player, and can see things other players can't see. I just hope to bring goals, assists and help my teammates out."

The young midfielder will now aim to make an impact at Tottenham's academy level and potentially progress to the first team in the future.
