Haslingden High Rounders Teams in County Finals

Two rounders teams from Haslingden High School and Sixth Form have secured their places in the Lancashire County Finals this July after winning the Rossendale titles. Students from Years 9 and 10 emerged victorious against all local high schools to claim the district championships.

Year 9 Team's Competitive Edge

Year 9 student Connie Wall, 14, highlighted the team's consistent performance over several years. 'We have played well as a team for a few years and we do rounders in PE during the summer term,' she said. 'Our last match was more competitive than the rest, but in all of the matches we won by quite a big score difference.'

Wall expressed enthusiasm for representing the school at the county level. 'I am looking forward to our team representing school and playing against different schools,' she added.

Excitement and Anticipation

Fellow Year 9 player Sienna Halleron, 14, admitted feeling anxious but excited about competing in the Lancashire final. The school also entered two Year 8 teams into the Rossendale competition, demonstrating the depth of rounders talent at Haslingden.

Both winning teams will now prepare to face opponents from across Lancashire in the county finals, aiming to bring further success to the school.
