£7,500 Grant Boosts Dementia Support in Neath Port Talbot

An independent charity has awarded £7,500 to a good cause in Neath Port Talbot to support those living with dementia and their carers. The McCarthy & Stone Foundation, which provides grants to non-profit organisations improving the lives of people later in life, delivered the funding through its annual Dementia Grant Programme. The initiative is specifically designed to strengthen community-based support and ensure smaller grassroots organisations can continue delivering essential services to those affected by dementia.

About the Beneficiary Charity

Me, Myself & I NPT is a charity helping people living with dementia, carers, and older adults stay connected, active, and supported. It delivers dementia Day Break sessions, friendship groups, and wellbeing activities that reduce isolation and strengthen local community ties. In 2024 alone, the charity supported 75 people living with dementia and 79 carers, providing vital support that improves confidence and helps people remain independent for longer.

How the Grant Will Be Used

This donation will assist the charity’s Dementia Friendship and Care Partner Support Programme. The project will provide weekly, accessible dementia-friendly social sessions and support opportunities for people aged 65 and more than 65 alongside their carers.
