Mayor Officially Opens New Millfield Rose Care Home in Brownhills
New Millfield Rose Care Home Opens in Brownhills

More than 200 members of the local community gathered in Brownhills this week to celebrate the official opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art care home. Millfield Rose, which is part of the Macc Care Group, has been designed to provide residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for up to 90 residents. The home's first residents have already moved in ahead of its formal launch, marking a significant milestone for the area.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Performed by Mayor

The unveiling event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Louise Harrison, the Mayor of Walsall. During her speech, she praised the home's role within the local community and emphasised its importance beyond just being a building.

"As Mayor of Walsall, I'm proud to see investments like this that place care, dignity and community at their heart," said Harrison. "A care home is much more than a building; it's a place of comfort, friendship and belonging. I wish Millfield Rose every success for the future, and I hope it becomes a happy home for all who live and work here."

Transformation of Former Pub Site

The new care home replaces a former pub site that had fallen into disrepair, transforming it into a modern, welcoming environment specifically designed to support high-quality care and wellbeing. Facilities at Millfield Rose include a cinema, salon, wellness spaces and thoughtfully designed communal areas that aim to enhance residents' daily lives.

Community Celebration with Live Entertainment

Guests at the opening were treated to a gourmet buffet prepared by the home's catering team, while the receptionist created a bespoke rose-themed cake. This nod to Macc Care's naming tradition sees each home taking the name of its location followed by 'Rose'. The celebration also featured live entertainment, a raffle and a drinks reception, creating a lively atmosphere that reflected the home's commitment to being an active part of the Brownhills community.

Director's Vision for Community Connection

Bhav Amlani, Director of Macc Care, expressed his delight at the community turnout. "It was fantastic to welcome our local community to Millfield Rose and to celebrate the opening of our seventeenth home," said Amlani. "The response from our neighbours has been incredibly warm, and it was wonderful to see so many people come along to support us. As we continue to grow, maintaining strong community connections remains central to our values, and we look forward to welcoming residents, families and local people through our doors for many years to come."

Personalised Care in Luxury Setting

Millfield Rose has been designed to deliver personalised care in a luxury yet homely setting. Residents benefit from menus curated by Group Executive Chef Anas Al Saadi, a range of therapies including aromatherapy and occupational therapy, and on-site amenities such as a cinema and wellness suite. The home represents the group's seventeenth care facility across the Midlands region, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to expanding quality care provision.

The opening event not only marked the beginning of operations for Millfield Rose but also highlighted the strong community support for such developments in the West Midlands area. With its comprehensive facilities and focus on personalised care, the home aims to become an integral part of the Brownhills community while providing essential services to local residents.
