Fire crews from the West Midlands Fire Service were dispatched to a rescue operation on Tuesday evening after reports of people trapped in a lift. The incident occurred on Manor Road in Smethwick, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.
One fire engine, staffed by approximately five firefighters, arrived at the scene shortly after 6.10 pm on March 24. The team acted promptly, using specialized keys to free two individuals who were stuck inside the lift. Thankfully, there were no injuries or casualties reported during the rescue.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service provided details on the incident, stating, "Shortly after 6.10 pm on Tuesday 24 March, we responded to Manor Road, Smethwick. A fire engine from Smethwick attended, arriving within four minutes of being mobilized. Firefighters used keys to release two people inside a lift. A lift engineer attended shortly after to carry out repair work. There were no injuries or casualties. We left this incident at 6.56 pm."
