An air ambulance was scrambled to a busy Swansea retail park on Friday afternoon following a serious collision that left two people trapped in their vehicles.

Emergency Response at Parc Tawe

Emergency services received the call just after 2pm on Friday, December 19, 2025, reporting a serious incident in the car park of Parc Tawe Retail Park in Swansea city centre. A multi-agency response was immediately launched, involving crews from the South Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, and the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Images from the scene showed a section of the car park near the Deichmann and Home Bargains stores cordoned off by emergency vehicles. A fire engine, multiple police cars, and ambulance crews were visible as they worked at the location.

Casualties Extricated Using Specialist Equipment

The incident involved a collision between two private cars. Fire service crews from Swansea Central and Swansea West stations used e-draulic rescue equipment to free the two casualties who were trapped as a result of the impact. One vehicle appeared to have collided with the front of the Deichmann shop.

The Wales Air Ambulance, dispatched from its Dafen base, arrived on the scene by air at 2.27pm. Its involvement concluded at approximately 2.50pm. Bystanders reported seeing the helicopter land after numerous ground-based emergency units had already arrived.

Scene Cleared by Mid-Afternoon

A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed that their crews were in attendance for just over half an hour, departing the scene at 2.45pm. The incident required a coordinated effort between all three emergency services to manage the situation and treat the injured parties.

The Welsh Ambulance Service attended to the casualties following their extrication. South Wales Police has been contacted for further details regarding the circumstances of the collision. The condition of the two individuals involved has not been officially disclosed.
