Morrisons Product Recall: Nut Snacks Pose Allergy Risk
Morrisons has issued an urgent recall for a range of nut snack products due to undeclared allergens, specifically peanuts and tree nuts. The supermarket chain is urging customers who have purchased these items to return them immediately for a full refund.
Which Products Are Affected?
The recall applies to several Morrisons-branded nut snacks, including the following:
- Morrisons Mixed Nuts 200g (best before dates up to and including June 2025)
- Morrisons Salted Peanuts 150g (best before dates up to and including May 2025)
- Morrisons Dry Roasted Peanuts 150g (best before dates up to and including May 2025)
The affected products have been found to contain undeclared peanuts in the Mixed Nuts, and undeclared almonds in the Salted and Dry Roasted Peanut products. This poses a serious health risk to anyone with a nut allergy.
What Should Customers Do?
Morrisons advises customers who have purchased any of the recalled items not to consume them. Instead, they should return the product to any Morrisons store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to inform customers of the recall. Customers with further questions can contact Morrisons customer service on 0345 611 6111.
Regulatory Action
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has been notified and is working with Morrisons to ensure the recall is effectively implemented. The FSA advises anyone with a nut allergy to check their homes for the affected products and to follow the recall instructions.
This recall is a precautionary measure to protect public health. Morrisons has apologised for any inconvenience caused and emphasised its commitment to food safety.
