Solihull Man Jake Libby, 38, Dies by Suicide; Sister Launches Funeral Fundraiser
Solihull Man's Suicide Shocks Family; Sister Raises Funeral Funds

A devastated sister has launched a fundraiser after her brother Jake Libby from Solihull took his own life in a tragedy that "no-one was prepared for." Jake, 38, died by suicide on April 25, just days after his birthday. His sister Mollie Jordan described him as "creative," "lovely," and someone who "never once complained."

Unexpected Loss

"He had no medical history at all, or depression," Mollie told BirminghamLive. "When he took his own life days after his birthday, he was the best he had ever been in this last year." The 30-year-old said her brother "didn't realise how loved he really was" and has set up a GoFundMe page hoping to raise £5,500 for funeral costs. "We want to show him one last time [how loved he was]," she said.

"None of us expected it in the slightest," Mollie added. "This shows you need to check in on people - even if they're not showing any signs."
