Cat Burns' Emotional Update After Surgery

Singer Cat Burns has shared a powerful and emotional update with her fans after undergoing a successful breast reduction operation, describing it as the beginning of her "new life".

A Personal Decision for Health and Happiness

The 25-year-old artist, who recently appeared as a celebrity contestant on BBC One's The Traitors, took to Instagram to reveal the deeply personal news. She explained that the decision came after years of enduring both physical pain and emotional distress related to her body image.

Burns wrote that she had debated whether to share the experience but felt supported by her online community. "I've just come out of my breast reduction surgery!" she announced. The singer described an overwhelming wave of relief and happiness, leading to "joyful tears" upon seeing her family after the procedure.

Years of Struggle Lead to Transformative Choice

In her candid post, Burns traced her struggles back to her early teenage years. "I've always struggled with my boobies since they arrived on my chest at like 12," she shared. She cited chronic pain during exercise and a deep dislike for the unwanted sexualisation her figure attracted as key factors.

Despite trying various solutions like specialist bras and lifestyle adjustments, the singer ultimately decided that surgery was the right path for her long-term wellbeing. "I thought while I'm young and healthy and by the universe's grace am able to go through with this surgery, I want to love my body going into the next part of my life!" she explained.

New Chapter Amid a Burgeoning Career

This significant personal milestone comes during a period of remarkable professional success for Cat Burns. Following her stint on The Traitors, where she was a "Traitor" alongside Jonathan Ross and Alan Carr and was eliminated in the final round, her music career has continued to soar.

She has since released her second album, 'How To Be Human', and was recently crowned the most searched-for female musician on Google in the UK for 2025. Burns confirmed her surgery went well and that she used affirmations to stay centred throughout the process, now looking ahead to a future with renewed self-love and physical comfort.
