Olly Murrs Shares Health Update After MRI Scan on Knee
Pop star Olly Murrs has provided a candid health update to his fans, revealing the full extent of his ongoing knee issues following multiple surgeries. The 41-year-old singer recently underwent an MRI scan to assess the condition of his knee, which has required four operations over the past seven years.
Multiple Surgeries and Complications
Olly Murrs has faced significant challenges with his knee, undergoing a total of four surgical procedures. These include a major ACL reconstruction in 2019/2020 and another operation in February 2022 after a fragment of bone became lodged in his leg during a live performance. The former X Factor contestant has also disclosed that he developed arthritis in the knee as a result of these operations, adding to his health struggles.
In a social media post, Olly shared a picture from his MRI scan and wrote, "Today I went in for an MRI check-up on my knee. A lot of you probably don’t know how bad it actually was… the severity of it and the complications over the last 7 years." He emphasized the extensive rehabilitation process, stating, "Four operations later, countless hours, days and months of rehab with plenty of down days!"
Recovery and Positive Outlook
Despite the difficulties, Olly expressed optimism about his recovery. He noted that the last three years have been transformative, thanks to dedicated rehabilitation efforts. "I can honestly say the last 3 years have been unreal… The work I put in during that period has changed everything," he said. The singer highlighted improvements in his daily life, stage performances, and ability to keep up with his daughter, Madi, around the house.
Olly acknowledged that he still experiences occasional arthritic discomfort, but he views this as part of his ongoing journey. "Yeahhh I still get the odd arthritic niggle and moments where I feel it… but that’s part of the journey for me now," he explained. He stressed the importance of regular check-ups, adding, "So it’s always important to check in and make sure everything internally is as it should be. Happy to say it’s in great shape."
