West Bromwich Albion Confirm Departure of Young Forward
West Bromwich Albion have completed the sale of their young striker to a League One side, the club announced on Tuesday. The forward, who came through the academy, has signed a long-term contract with his new club.
The transfer fee is undisclosed but is understood to include performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause. The 20-year-old made three first-team appearances for the Baggies, all as a substitute, and scored once in the EFL Trophy.
Academy Graduate Moves On
The striker joined West Brom's academy at the age of 12 and progressed through the ranks. He was a regular for the under-23s, scoring 15 goals in 40 appearances. His only senior goal came in a 2-1 defeat to MK Dons in the EFL Trophy last season.
West Brom's head coach Carlos Corberan said: "We wish him all the best. He has worked hard in the academy and deserves this opportunity. It's a good move for him to get regular first-team football."
Add-ons and Future Benefits
The deal includes a sell-on clause that could benefit West Brom if the player is sold on by his new club. The Baggies have also inserted a buy-back option, allowing them to re-sign him in the future if he develops as expected.
West Brom have been active in the transfer window, bringing in several new players while allowing fringe players to leave. The sale of the young striker is part of a strategy to balance the squad and generate funds for further investment.
