Daryl Dike has penned a heartfelt letter to West Bromwich Albion supporters following his departure from the club, expressing his gratitude for their support despite a career hampered by injuries.
Dike's Emotional Message to the Fans
In an open letter shared on social media, the 23-year-old American striker wrote: "I will never forget the love and support you have shown me. You have been with me every step of the way, and I am forever grateful." Dike joined West Brom in January 2022 for a reported fee of around £7 million but managed only 28 appearances, scoring five goals, due to a series of muscle injuries.
A Difficult Spell at The Hawthorns
His time at the club was plagued by setbacks, including a hamstring injury that required surgery and kept him sidelined for most of the 2023-24 season. Despite his limited game time, Dike remained a popular figure among fans for his work ethic and positive attitude. He added: "You never gave up on me, and I hope I gave you everything I had when I was on the pitch."
Looking Ahead
Dike is now a free agent and is focusing on his recovery, aiming to return to full fitness and continue his career. He concluded his letter by saying: "The journey is not over. I will keep fighting to get back to doing what I love." West Brom have not commented on his departure, but the club is expected to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
