Former Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has revealed a cheeky conversation with Prince William about Aston Villa during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. Levy was made a CBE by the Prince of Wales for his services to charity and the community in Tottenham, supporting education, health, and social inclusion, as well as creating jobs through the construction of the club's stadium.
Levy shared that he spoke with William, a long-standing Aston Villa fan, when receiving his honour. "I thanked him for allowing us to beat Aston Villa when we played them a few weeks ago," Levy said. "He wished us luck the rest of the season, very much hoping that Tottenham survive in the Premier League."
Villa suffered a shock 2-1 Premier League defeat to Tottenham at Villa Park earlier this month, which angered fans and sparked boos from the stands. While Unai Emery's side sits fifth in the Premier League and has reached the Europa League final, Spurs languish in 17th place with only two matches of the season remaining.
Levy's comments come as Villa prepare for their Europa League final, with the club hoping to end the season on a high note. The exchange highlights the friendly rivalry between the two clubs, despite their contrasting fortunes this season.
