Rob Edwards Blasts Wolves Players After Embarrassing Season

Wolves head coach Rob Edwards has launched a scathing attack on his players following their 3-0 defeat at Brighton, admitting he has given up on some members of the squad and branding the club's campaign as 'embarrassing'.

Furious Post-Match Reaction

Edwards was visibly angry after watching his side concede two goals in five minutes at the Amex Stadium, eventually succumbing to a comprehensive loss. In his post-match press conference, the head coach did not hold back when asked if he had lost faith in certain players.

'Yes, definitely. Some of them have got to go,' Edwards declared. 'We're bottom of the league, it's been embarrassing. They've got to go. Have I not been clear with that?'

Rebuilding for Next Season

Edwards acknowledged that significant changes are required to turn the club's fortunes around. 'We know there's going to be a lot of change. At the moment, yes, it's difficult. You're coming to a team that is already light-years ahead of you anyway, so you know it's going to be a difficult day. We have a start like we did. We knew we were going to have to be at our max to get anything from it,' he said.

The head coach is already looking ahead to next season and the rebuilding process. 'We've got to keep our heads down for another couple of games and then the change can begin,' he added.

Focus on Remaining Fixtures

Despite the desire to pivot to next season, Edwards stressed the importance of finishing the current campaign professionally. 'Yes, definitely. But, at the moment, there's still Premier League games to play and we've obviously got to try and find a way to compete in that and we'll continue to do it. We've got two more games. So, suck it up, keep our head down, take whatever we're going to have to take for the next couple of weeks and then we can really get to work,' he concluded.

Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table, and Edwards' comments signal a summer of major upheaval at Molineux.
