Under UEFA regulations, both clubs were required to submit their List A squads by 4 August 2026, 23:59 CET. However, amendments can be made up to 23:59 CET on the day before the match, provided the club's association confirms in writing that any new players are eligible at domestic level by the date of the competition.
Confirmed Villa Squad List
The confirmed squad includes goalkeepers Emiliano Martinez, Marco Bizot, Gary Wright, and Asemota. Defenders are Matty Cash, Nedeljkovic, Ezri Konsa, Victor Lindelof, Pau Torres, Tyrone Mings, Ian Maatsen, Bogarde, and Cisse. Meanwhile, George Hemmings and Luka Lynch could be named in Villa's List B squad, which has a deadline of 4 August 2026, 23:59 CET. UEFA rules permit List B registration for players born on or after 1 January 2005 who have been eligible to play for the club for an uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years, with a maximum of one loan spell to a club from the same association lasting no longer than one year.
