West Bromwich Albion midfielder Tom Fellows has completed a permanent move to League One rivals, with the transfer fee confirmed by both clubs.
Fee confirmed in permanent deal
The 21-year-old has signed a long-term contract with his new club after the two sides agreed on an undisclosed fee, which has been confirmed as a club-record sale for West Brom's academy.
Fellows, who came through the Baggies' youth system, made 14 first-team appearances for the club, scoring one goal, before being loaned out to gain experience.
Move to League One rivals
The midfielder has joined League One side Peterborough United on a permanent basis, with the fee reported to be in the region of £1.5 million, according to the Birmingham World.
West Brom confirmed the departure on their official website, stating: "Tom Fellows has completed a permanent transfer to Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee."
Impact on both clubs
The sale represents a significant profit for West Brom, who developed Fellows through their academy ranks, while Peterborough secure a promising young talent as they push for promotion from League One.
Fellows becomes the second West Brom player to leave the club this week, following the departure of another academy graduate, and the funds raised will be reinvested into the first-team squad ahead of the January transfer window.
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony confirmed the club-record fee, saying: "We have paid a club-record fee for Tom, which shows our ambition and belief in his ability."
The midfielder is expected to make his debut for Peterborough in their upcoming League One fixture against Derby County this weekend.
