Wolves legend Steve Bull has backed Raul Jimenez to make a significant impact in the Championship, insisting the Mexican striker still possesses the quality to be a standout performer in the second tier. Bull's comments come as Wolves prepare for life back in the Championship following relegation from the Premier League.
Bull's Confidence in Jimenez
Speaking to the club's official website, Bull said: "Raul is a top player. He's proven it at the highest level, and I think he'll be a massive asset in the Championship. He's got the experience and the know-how to score goals at any level."
The former England international, who scored 306 goals for Wolves, believes Jimenez's physicality and technical ability will make him a handful for Championship defenders. "He's strong, he's quick, and he's got a great eye for goal. I'm confident he'll be one of the best players in the division next season," Bull added.
Jimenez's Road to Recovery
Jimenez has had a challenging couple of years, having suffered a serious skull fracture in November 2020. However, he has shown resilience in his recovery and has been a key figure for Wolves in their recent campaigns. Bull acknowledged the difficult period but emphasized Jimenez's mental strength.
"He's been through a lot, but he's come back stronger. That shows his character. He's a winner, and he'll be determined to help Wolves get back to the Premier League," Bull said.
Wolves' Promotion Hopes
Wolves are expected to be among the favorites for promotion, with a strong squad and a proven manager in Julen Lopetegui. Jimenez's goals will be crucial to their chances, and Bull believes the team has the right balance to succeed.
"They've got a good squad, a good manager, and they'll be up there. With Raul leading the line, they've got a real chance," Bull concluded.
Wolves will begin their Championship campaign in August, with Jimenez expected to lead the attack as they aim for an immediate return to the top flight.
