Pedro Lima Discusses Wolves Return and Team Morale Ahead of Premier League Finale
As Wolverhampton Wanderers approach a pivotal period in the Premier League, summer decisions loom large regarding player retention for the Championship. Among those potentially staying is full-back Pedro Lima, a £8.4 million acquisition in 2024, whose playing time has been limited since his arrival.
Lima made six substitute appearances in his debut season before spending the first half of the current campaign at Porto B. Recalled in January, he has since featured in a handful of matches off the bench. While breaking into the starting lineup before season's end may prove challenging, Lima is optimistic about his future at Molineux, especially amid Wolves' recent upturn in form.
Positive Reception and Training Environment
In an interview with the Wolves website, Lima expressed enthusiasm about his return, stating, "I came back in January which was good timing. I arrived back and had a very good meeting with Rob [Edwards], and I like the training we have now." He praised the cohesive atmosphere, adding, "I like the staff, the team, everybody likes each other. We have good jokes, we all enjoy training. Training is really good, I improve every session which is important."
Since Lima's return, Wolves have shown marked improvement, securing wins against Aston Villa and Liverpool, along with draws against Arsenal and Brentford. These results have injected a sense of purpose into the squad as they head into the final stretch of the season, despite the high probability of relegation to the Championship.
Focus on Crucial Matches and Team Spirit
Lima emphasized the significance of recent performances, noting, "Yes, it was a really good time, some really good wins. We know all games in the Premier League are very important, but those games against Liverpool and Aston Villa were really important, and good timing for our position in the table at the end of the season." He urged the team to maintain their momentum, saying, "Now we have more games that we need to play like we did in those games."
With the Premier League run-in underway, Lima's positive outlook and integration into the squad highlight a renewed sense of determination at Wolves. As the club navigates potential relegation, his commitment and the team's improved results could play a key role in shaping their future in the Championship.
