Three counties in the Midlands could experience a 'mini heatwave' this bank holiday weekend, with temperatures expected to reach at least 25°C or higher. Weather maps from WX Charts, which uses MetDesk data, indicate that Shropshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire are among the areas set for warm conditions on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25.
Temperature Forecast
The maps show that parts of the Midlands and North East could see temperatures as high as 29°C, well above the monthly average of 16°C. Areas around London may reach 28°C, while the south coast could see 26°C. Counties in the North West and North East are also predicted to hit 28°C in some locations. Coastal areas like Norfolk and Cornwall are expected to be slightly cooler but still warm at 23°C. Wales could see highs between 24°C and 28°C.
Met Office Outlook
The Met Office forecast for May 24 to June 2 states: 'Warm and dry for most on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Through the following week, high pressure is expected to remain in place for much of the UK, meaning fine weather likely to continue for most places. Some patchy rain may affect the far north at times and perhaps a few showers in the far south. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds.'
