Birmingham Business Leaders Issue Rallying Cry for Enhanced City Promotion

Business leaders in Birmingham have issued a powerful call to action, urging the city to "shout louder" about its offerings ahead of a major inaugural event. The first-ever Birmingham Business Leadership Summit, organized by M3.agency, is set to take place at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on April 30. This landmark gathering aims to unite 100 leaders to foster collaboration, nurture local talent, and challenge outdated perceptions about the city.

Star-Studded Lineup of Keynote Speakers

The summit will feature an impressive roster of keynote speakers, including Jack Bucknor, CEO of UK Athletics, and Olympic 400m bronze medallist Katharine Merry. They will highlight major athletics events scheduled for Birmingham this summer, such as the Novuna UK Athletics Championships and the European Athletics Championships Birmingham 2026, both hosted at the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr.

Delegates will also hear from Paralympics GB Rowing gold medallist Naomi Riches, with the evening concluding with insights from Pride of Britain Award winner and author Omar Sharif. This diverse lineup underscores the event's focus on excellence and inspiration across various fields.

Building Momentum for Birmingham's Future

Nick Lovett, CEO of M3.agency, emphasized the summit's purpose: "As a full-service agency committed to Birmingham's overall success, we wanted to bring together our city's amazing business leaders in one iconic location to connect, inspire, share ideas, and build momentum for the future." He added that this event marks the beginning of what is hoped to become an annual tradition.

Lovett stressed the need for greater promotion: "We need to shout louder about what Birmingham has to offer and, more importantly, what we can deliver – like fantastic Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games. There has to be an increased appetite to build a community that works for the greater good of the city and not just to boost personal revenues."

Economic and Commercial Opportunities Highlighted

Jack Buckner, CEO of UK Athletics, highlighted the economic benefits of hosting major events: "Birmingham will host two fantastic events this summer, underlining how the sport of athletics loves the West Midlands. Events staged here always benefit from significant interest and engagement from local fans, but even more importantly, we know that there are huge economic and commercial opportunities, and we are looking forward to bringing that to you."

He praised the Business Leadership Summit as a valuable platform to share upcoming developments and engage with local and regional leaders. The event aims to position Birmingham as the UK's second city for all the right reasons, leveraging its talent and firms to drive positive change.
