This event targets professionals aged 18 to 35, offering interactive leadership sessions delivered by Blanchard and facilitated by experienced trainer Peter Brent. On Thursday, February 26, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Surrey Chambers of Commerce will host a Members Networking Evening at Setfords' offices in Guildford. This monthly event brings together professionals from across the county in a relaxed setting, featuring drinks and canapés. It offers an opportunity to meet new contacts, strengthen existing relationships, and exchange ideas, helping individuals raise their profiles and stay connected within Surrey's thriving business community.

International Trade Training – Empowering SMEs for Global Markets

Surrey Chambers of Commerce is launching a comprehensive suite of events, starting with a practical half-day International Trade training course on February 25, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Duke's Court. Led by Linda Bazant, a barrister and member of the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade, this session addresses the challenges of today's global trade environment, including tariffs, regulations, and compliance. The course covers export fundamentals, documentation, and more, followed by additional sessions on import procedures and export licensing to help UK SMEs trade overseas with confidence.

Apprenticeship System Reform – Calls for Greater Flexibility

A new report from the British Chambers of Commerce urges the government to reform the UK's apprenticeship system to better meet the needs of modern businesses and learners. Recommendations include allowing the Growth and Skills Levy to fund shorter, modular training and ringfencing levy funds for workforce development. Louise Punter, CEO of Surrey Chambers of Commerce, emphasised that apprenticeships are a vital route for employment and upskilling but warned that falling take-up and limited flexibility could hinder business growth. The report advocates using Local Skills Improvement Plans to shape future provision and recognising skills spending as an investment.
