Honor has officially launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V6, in a move that intensifies competition in the high-end foldable market. The device was unveiled at a virtual event on Tuesday, showcasing a 7.7-inch main display and a 6.45-inch cover screen, both with 120Hz refresh rates.
Key Specifications and AI Camera
The Magic V6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and features a triple rear camera system co-engineered with AI. The 50-megapixel main sensor uses AI algorithms to enhance low-light photography, according to Honor. The phone also includes a 5000mAh battery with 66W wired charging, which the company claims can reach 50% charge in 15 minutes.
Pricing and Availability
Honor has priced the Magic V6 starting at £1,199 for the 256GB model, making it slightly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. It will be available in the UK from March 15, 2025, through major retailers including Carphone Warehouse and Amazon. Honor CEO George Zhao said, "The Magic V6 redefines the foldable experience with cutting-edge technology and elegant design."
Market Impact
Analysts see the Magic V6 as a strong competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series and Huawei's Mate X lineup. With its competitive pricing and advanced features, Honor aims to capture a significant share of the growing foldable market, which is projected to reach 30 million units by 2026, according to IDC.
