Lloyds Bank Named UK Best Bank by Euromoney for 2026

Lloyds Banking Group has been named Euromoney's UK Best Bank for 2026, the bank announced on Friday, July 17. The award, presented in Euromoney's Awards for Excellence 2026, recognizes the bank's support for 28 million customers across the UK and highlights its progress in financial empowerment, digital innovation, and customer experience.

Award Reflects Support for Millions

The accolade "reflects the support provided to 28 million people and businesses across the UK," Lloyds stated. The bank, which also operates the Halifax brand, emphasized that the award "highlights the Group's progress in financial empowerment, digital innovation and customer experience." Jasjyot Singh OBE, CEO of Consumer Relationships at Lloyds, described the recognition as "a brilliant moment for everyone across the Group."

Singh added: "Being named the UK's Best Bank recognizes the huge progress our teams are making together. It reflects what our colleagues do best: making banking simpler, faster, and more personal for the customers, businesses, and communities we serve, and helping millions of people feel more in control of their finances."

Investment in Digital Banking

Alongside the award announcement, Lloyds highlighted its role as the UK's largest digital bank. The bank is investing in technology, products, and services to help customers manage their money with confidence. Tools such as Your Credit Score and Benefits Calculator, along with expanded access to savings, investments, and pensions, are designed to assist customers through key life moments, from buying a first home to planning for retirement.

The bank, which has branches in Birmingham, noted that the recognition also reflects its ambition to embed financial empowerment across every stage of the customer journey. By combining data, digital capabilities, and AI with the expertise of colleagues, Lloyds continues to make everyday banking simpler, more personalized, and more accessible, supporting households, businesses, and communities across the UK.

Competition and Brand Changes

Lloyds faces competition from HSBC UK, Santander, Barclays, and other major banks. Currently, the bank is in the process of phasing out its famous Halifax brand, a move that has drawn attention as it streamlines its operations under the Lloyds name.
