CY Group, a business services firm founded in Romsley, has opened a new office in Herefordshire, marking its first expansion beyond the West Midlands. The company, which provides support across accounting, tax, and business advisory services, has taken space in Hereford to serve clients in the region.
New Office in Hereford City Centre
The new office is located at 1 St John Street in Hereford city centre. The move represents a strategic step for the firm, which was established in 2022 and has since grown to employ 15 staff across its operations. The Hereford office will be led by director James Griffiths, who brings experience from his previous role at a local accountancy practice.
According to the company, the expansion was driven by demand from existing clients in Herefordshire and the surrounding area. The firm said it had identified a gap in the market for personalised business support in the county.
Growth Since 2022 Founding
CY Group was launched in Romsley, a village in Worcestershire, and has built a client base spanning small and medium-sized enterprises. The company's services include bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns, and strategic business planning. The firm has also developed a specialism in supporting construction and property businesses.
James Griffiths, director at CY Group, said: “We are thrilled to be opening our new office in Hereford. This is a significant milestone for the company and reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, personalised support to businesses in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.”
Impact on Local Business Community
The opening is expected to create local employment opportunities, with the firm planning to recruit additional staff for the Hereford office. CY Group said it aims to become a trusted partner for businesses in the region, offering the same level of service that has driven its growth in the West Midlands.
The company’s expansion into Herefordshire comes amid a broader trend of professional services firms seeking to establish a presence in smaller cities and towns, where clients often prefer face-to-face meetings over remote consultations. CY Group’s move positions it to compete with established local practices while leveraging its experience from the Romsley base.
