York property tech firm Greenhouse OS heats up expansion with £900,000 investment
Greenhouse OS secures £900k for property platform expansion

Greenhouse OS, a York-based property technology company, has secured a £900,000 investment to accelerate the growth of its estate agency platform. The funding round includes £600,000 from Finance Yorkshire’s Growth Fund and an additional £300,000 from a group of private angel investors.

Platform built on Salesforce

The company has developed what it describes as a true operating system on the Salesforce platform, designed to empower estate agencies to build, scale, and evolve without hitting a technology ceiling. The system is aimed at multi-office agencies that have outgrown standard software solutions.

Founders Alex Rhodes and Ian Preston bring decades of property industry experience to the venture. They are deploying an AI suite that goes beyond generic chatbots, providing intelligent, sector-specific automation that understands the nuances of the property journey.

Expansion plans and team growth

Greenhouse OS, based at York Science Park, currently employs nearly 20 staff, including a team of 10 engineers. The new capital will be used to expand the engineering team and deploy sophisticated AI automation, such as 24/7 viewing bookings, to help clients stay ahead of the curve.

Alex Rhodes, co-founder of Greenhouse OS, said: “Our platform is built for ambitious agencies that have outgrown the limitations of standard software. This investment from Finance Yorkshire is the fuel that allows us to maintain the pace of innovation required in a competitive market. We aren’t just giving agents another tool; we’re giving them a true operating system that allows them to scale and evolve indefinitely without ever hitting a technology ceiling.”

He added: “The capital is directly accelerating our roadmap, from expanding our engineering team to deploying sophisticated AI automation that handles the heavy lifting, such as 24/7 viewing bookings. It ensures our clients stay ahead of the curve while they focus on what they do best, building relationships and closing deals.”

Finance Yorkshire’s support

Finance Yorkshire chief executive Alex McWhirter commented: “Greenhouse’s platform is now commercially deployed with multiple estate agencies committed to long term contracts. Finance Yorkshire is pleased to support the Greenhouse team in its next growth phase as it embraces the potential of AI to evolve its platform and develop further applications.”

Over the last three years, Finance Yorkshire has supported 70 SMEs, creating and safeguarding over 780 jobs and attracting £30 million of private sector investment. The organisation is now looking to make further investments after a positive review of its investment performance. Investments from Finance Yorkshire’s funds are expected to total £50 million by 2027.
