Commercial property consultancy Naylors has announced three senior promotions. Jessica Ross and Louis Donaldson have been promoted from associate partners to salaried partners, while Mark Greener has progressed from chartered building surveyor to senior surveyor. The Newcastle firm stated that the promotions strengthen the office agency, property and facilities management, and building consultancy teams.

Muckle LLP recruits employment law specialist

Newcastle law firm Muckle LLP has recruited legal expert Roland Fairlamb to its growing employment team. Mr Fairlamb qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and has a decade of expertise in employment law, advising businesses and individuals on all aspects of employment. He has extensive experience in contentious and non-contentious matters, including tribunal claims, workplace policies, restructuring, and corporate transactions. Mr Fairlamb rejoins Muckle as an associate solicitor, having first been part of the firm in 2018 before leaving in 2024 to practice at a specialist employment firm.

Tyne Housing appoints funding and business development manager

Housing association Tyne Housing has appointed Rachel McPeake as funding and business development manager. Ms McPeake brings extensive experience across the voluntary and community sector, having most recently served as business support manager and a member of the senior management team at the North East Law Centre. During her time there, she led operational services, funding and contract management, overseeing major programmes including Home Office-funded contracts delivering EU Settlement Scheme advice and Transition to eVisa support. She also managed charitable grant-funded initiatives, including a three-year project to increase the number of regulated immigration advisers across the North East and a partnership programme providing holistic support for people at risk of crisis.

She said: “My first few weeks at Tyne have been great, and I've enjoyed learning more about the organisation and meeting the team. I've met the Residents Consultation Group, spent time at the Progression Hub, visited Ouseburn Farm, Southernwood young people's accommodation, and Westbridge which is a dedicated service for people with mental ill health, as well as getting involved in my first tender opportunities and taking part in key working groups.”

Mincoffs adds two solicitors to corporate and employment teams

Newcastle-based law firm Mincoffs has announced two solicitor appointments to bolster its key teams. Danial Shafe has joined the corporate team, while Sarah Johnston has joined the employment department. Mr Shafe, who holds a master's degree in banking and finance, trained and qualified at a legal consultancy providing outsourced contract management for banks, asset managers, and hedge funds. He will support the Mincoffs team on a wide range of corporate transactions. Ms Johnston, originally from East Sussex, trained and qualified at the Newcastle office of a transatlantic firm, gaining valuable experience across complex legal disciplines. She joins Mincoffs as a solicitor in the employment team.

John N Dunn Group appoints commercial manager

Mechanical and electrical contractor John N Dunn Group has appointed Darren McCallum as commercial manager, strengthening its electrical division. Mr McCallum will oversee site evaluations, contract administration, liaise with the company’s supply chain, and serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders. In his most recent role, he was a quantity surveyor at Taylor Wimpey. Having worked as an electrical buyer for the Wallsend-based firm between 2017 and 2022, Mr McCallum went on to be a quantity surveyor at Taylor Wimpey.

He said: “I’m really enjoying being back at John N Dunn Group. The company has a strong culture and has retained the feel of a family business.”
