Birmingham City Council has given the green light to plans for demolishing multiple industrial units in Castle Bromwich. A total of 17 units at Sentinel Logistics Park on Dunlop Way are set to be knocked down after the council approved the application from Legal & General Property Partners Industrial Fund.
Site Details
The site, accessible from Dunlop Way, forms part of phase two of the logistics park. Phase one was approved by the council's planning department in 2023. The industrial estate is bordered by a railway line and the River Tame to the south, with the A47 Fort Parkway to the north.
Planning Documents
According to planning documents, the site at Units 15-31 Dunlop Way is bounded by a rail line and the River Tame, including an overflow channel, to the south, and the A47 Fort Parkway to the north. Access is from Dunlop Way, and it sits adjacent to the phase one Sentinel Logistics Park redevelopment, currently under construction.
The permission document states that the existing buildings 'do not meet modern occupier requirements.' Vacant possession of the site is expected by November 2026. The document also notes that demolition will ensure the site is left in a level, tidy, and safe condition for future redevelopment.
Demolition work is projected to begin later this year and is forecast to be completed by May 2027.
