Wren Kitchens Closes 15 Stores, Staff Redundant After US Exit

Wren Kitchens has closed 15 of its locations following its filing for liquidation, with every member of staff at those sites made redundant as the company pulls out of the US market.

US Operations Shut Down

All of the company's East Coast US showrooms, as well as its Wren Kitchen Studios located within Home Depot stores, have now closed. Home Depot issued a statement to WFSB-TV saying: "Wren Kitchens has alerted us that they've ceased operations in the United States, which includes closing their showrooms in our stores. We had no previous notice of Wren's intent to close, and we're actively evaluating how this has affected Wren customers to help those who may have questions or issues. For questions about operations, please contact Wren directly."

Wren's Official Statement

On the Wren website, the company states: "We regret to inform you that our showrooms and studios are now closed. If you require assistance, please click button and complete the form." On April 24, Wren filed a US legal process that enables businesses to wipe out debts by selling off assets to pay back creditors. Wren US Holdings Inc. filed for bankruptcy in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, listing between $100 million (approximately £73 million) and $500 million (approximately £370 million) in assets.
